Fire Ribs and Potatoes

2 racks pork ribs
3-5 pounds potatoes
1 1/3 cups liquid crab boil, divided
1 pound powdered crab boil
2 cups BBQ sauce, or to taste
1 pound shredded cheese
1/4 cup butter, or as needed

RIBS:

Bring 4 tablespoons of liquid crab boil and 1/2 lb powder crab boil to a boil. Add ribs and continue to boil for 30 minutes. Remove from heat and add 3 tablespoons of liquid crab boil and fill pot of ribs with ice and cover. Let ribs soak for 15-20 minutes.

Preheat an outdoor grill for medium heat.

Remove ribs from pot and place them on pit. Cover with BBQ sauce, and slow cook for 20 minutes.

POTATOES:

Bring 4 tablespoons of liquid crab boil and 1/2 lb of powder crab boil. Add potatoes and continue to boil. When potatoes are tender, remove from heat and add 2 tablespoons of liquid crab boil. Let potatoes soak for 20 minutes. Drain water and add butter and cheese to your liking.
