Cheap Meats - Smoked Chicken Thighs with Homemade Orange Juice BBQ Sauce

BBQ Sauce

    2 (14 ounce) bottles tomato ketchup
    3/4 cup orange juice
    1 tablespoon molasses
    1 tablespoon whole grain mustard
    1 tablespoon chopped garlic
    1/2 cup chopped yellow onion
    1/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
    1 teaspoon hot sauce
    1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon cayenne
    1 tablespoon peeled and grated fresh ginger
    1/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper

Process in a blender or food processor until smooth - about 15 seconds. Scrape down sides and pulse two or three times more.

Will keep in the fridge up to two weeks.

Smoke (or grill the chicken thighs) until cooked through.  Mop on some sauce, and grill, skin side down for 2 minutes to caramelize the sauce.
